... but is anyone else getting just a little~ tired of watching Kouga be a loser?
I mean sure he's funny as fuck, but it's starting to wear just a bit thin at this point.
Maybe if they gave him something other than 1) loser 2) obsessed with Saori (or just focused more on how he's an unsocialized barbarian)), this would go a little better --

Date: 2012-04-25 09:05 am (UTC)Seiya was kind of similar to Kouga in his own way, except that he actually won his fights (vs Cassios, Shaina and eventually his opponents in the Galaxian Wars) after suffering and bleeding and taken to the brink of his very existence.
But to answer your question! Not really. I do have a soft spot for underdogs and I look forward to Kouga not being a loser and start filling his victory gauge come ep 5.
... now that I look at it in numbers though, 4~5 episodes where your title character's victory count is still at ZERO is kinda sad so I feel you there.

Date: 2012-04-25 12:07 pm (UTC)I like my heroes to be heroes, even if it means getting beaten bloody like Seiya or dealing with the fallout like Casshern.
(also, Seiya didn't have the "whining rebel" trope stapled to his forehead like Kouga does; he was quite cheerful in his mauling and getting mauled. I like Tenma best though as a well-balanced example of a StS protagonist.)
When the resident sickly escapee from a classic shoujo curbstomps you for your own good, because you can't even use your own bloody hero powers when you want to, that's kind of sad >.>;;
