EEEEEEE SOHMA YOU ADORABLE LITTLE LIONET KITTIE YOU AJKDFJKSDK YOU GIVE THE BEST ADVICE EVER COME HERE AND LET ME SQUISH YOU.

*ahem* Yes! Thoughts on Episode 4: Where I label myself a heretic and choose not to fangirl over Ryuuho

After the horror that is Yuna from the previous episode, I actually enjoyed this one! I'm amused as Kouga seems so used to the language of Shaina's fists or Tatsumi's bokken, that more fists and head trauma are the things that work on him! Attaboy Kouga, you are a true blue Saint--

NOT YET.

You have to win a fight first. :3< And aww you poor boy, you make Pegasus cry!

As expected, the elemental attribute to Cosmo follows every other pattern there is in fandom where each element has its weakness and strengths. I'll just have to shake its hand and make peace with it and promise not to bark at it too much.

Ryuuho. You are too good, too brilliant. YOU ARE DOOMED. Also you mother dear hasn't changed at all. Shiryu you lucky bastard at least you had your Dragon rise to the occasion ohohoho~ *BRICKED*

Another moment killer in the form of "Winter Flower, Water Moon". *SIGH* I swear, the scriptwriters are recycling Sailormoon scripts or running their iTunes on shuffle and mashing together JPop song titles as attack names. Someday, I'll laugh at these attack names. Someday.

Scrublets are still as scrawny as hell, but I was slightly appeased to see more definition in their arms when they don their Cloths, specially Ryuuho. I also admit to goosebumps at the good ol' Rozan Shoryu Ha.

NEXT EPISODE: Konoha's ninjas team up to kickstart the Chuunin Exams-- what show am I watching again? (;o O)a

*puts on pedant hat* Actually, the anime/manga/game tendency to put in a destructive (and sometimes constructive) wheel for whatever elemental system is in place comes straight from the Five Phases and the various derivatives used in Japan and elsewhere.

You don't get to complain about Omega using the same ancient systemic roots as everyone else, sorry ;3~ *brick'd*

*also totally not worried about Ryuuho's attack mode, thinks it sounds very Chinese-poetic and not any more silly than, say, some of Shaka's old modes ~*

The wee Dragon is definitely totally fragged, though, yup, total agreement there. He has the Unspecified Delicate Illness [tm], he's going to die.

No, you won't, not really; but I'll still be bitching about lack of blood and Kouga being a loser, so we're even <3

Seriously, have you seen translations for some of Shaka's modes ~? X3~ 8cackles*

*hugs ~* <3

The translations are strange as all hell, but accurate (as much as English will be accurate translation esoteric Buddhism). It just sounds better -- to we non-Japanese-speakers -- when we can just go "hey that sounds cool :D" ~ Ditto with Ryuuho's mode.

(kind of like how Genmaou'ken sounds pretty damn awesome, but Demon Emperor's Illusion Fist sounds blegh. even switching it up and playing with the words a bit, as I'm prone to do, can't really save it in English ...)

I'm much more wharrgarbl about Yuna's -- well, everything about her combat. Modes, mutilated capoeira, constant crotch-flashing, all of it DX

We shall wharrgarbl together forever --

Scanlations can be easier on the braincells that way, yeh X3 They also blur the inevitable giggles when an attack name is not in Japanese originally and get kind of an interesting pronounciation, which does happen on occasion X3;;

... now that replay it and not look at the subs, it actually does! :o
