Anyway --
- Eden oneshots his opponent again, this time complete with smug little smile. Well, at least it's a change of expression.
- the four finalists: Ryuuho, Yuna, Kouga, Eden. whooboy ~
- here comes the flying sparklehorsie carriage! and Eden makes woeface at it. Kouga feels a "great and kind cosmo" and of course assumes it's Saori ...
- Yuna tries to stop him, saying the next match starts soon and he needs to rest, but Kouga just haaaas~ to see if it's really Saori. oi.
- Athena, naturally, steps out veiled so no one can see any details of her; and is greeted by the headmaster ...
- meanwhile Souma is still mauled, poor firebug. and he has A Bad Feeling about Kouga running off --
- into the chapel-like spot at the top of the campus we go! (try to look a little less like you're having the raptures, Kouga ... >.>;;) where Athena and two attendants are -- and -- totally not Saori. unless Saori cut all her hair off and dyed it to match Eden, that is. that's right folks, it's the woebegone waif from the opening credits! (insert my head smashed against the wall here, not that I'm surprised really)
- oh, did I forget to mention the trio of spider Martians? I guess I did ;3 Kouga gets to get in a scrap with those, lol ~ tis Spider Ragno, who "will not allow [Kouga] to get any closer to Athena". hmm hmm!
- ... the utter lack of blood while Kouga has energy web-strands wrapped around him (including his face) and the Martians are saying he's going to get cut up is DAMNED ANNOYING DAMNIT -_-
- "Death awaits anyone who tries to get close to Athena", ei?
- anyway, needless to say Kouga is all D8 over vapid empty-eyed girl and starts the who-the-hell-are-you dance. this goes about as well as you probably expect with that kind of annoying female character, with much tears and breakdown. pfeh. oh, and a "resonance" with Kouga, "the same Light cosmo" as his when he touches her.
- aww, she doesn't know who she is --
- heavy footsteps! who could that be? :o why, it's Headmaster Ionia ~ and he's pissed at Kouga ~ and all his repetition of "do you doubt Athena's identity" and "a Saint's duty is to protect Athena" blarrblarr is daaaaaamned fun when
- not!Athena tells Kouga to run and is promptly throttled by a darkness collar courtesy of Ionia. (go Ionia :Db)
- ... seeing as Ionia 1) has epic darkness powers, 2) serves Mars who plans to reshape the world, 3) is Capricorn ~ needless to say, Kouga plants punches who do SWEET~ FUCK~ ALL~ and Ionia fucks his shit up.
- "The one who knows all the secrets of the cosmos, the Gold Saint sage, Capricorn" ... sounds like a definite break from the Shura standard here, yup :o
- oh, and somehow during all this Ryuuho and Yuna are having their match and somehow no one at all notices the LOOMING BILLOWS OF DARKNESS surrounding the upper reaches of the campus. even though Ryuu and Yuna yammer at each other about feeling uneasy. good jorb there folks ;p
- sooo Ionia was retired at one point but when Athena -- and he does mean Saori, he knows bloody well who she is -- founded the Palaestra he came back into Gold Saint-dom. I'd like to know how long he was active the first time, then -- and, frankly, how much of all that is bullshit anyway ...
- in any case, Ionia says that the world is no longer Athena's and he's sent plenty of Saints to Mars blahblah. agreeing up front that he's a traitor to Athena is a refreshing change though :Db
- and then he says to "Athena" won't she help create a new Sanctuary for Mars, and ...
- ... the entire Palaestra is devoured by evil darkness amoeba something o.O while Ionia somehow uses "Athena" to break a kekkai I didn't know the Palaestra had O.o Ionia leaves with "Athena" via sparklehorsie carriage.
- YEH, NOW YOU NOTICE SOMETHING'S GOING ON DON'T YOU PEOPLE morons.
- aaaand Kouga is in adeep deep dark dark deep dark pitdungeon in what's left of the campus. fun! he's also locked in with a cranky ninja with shiny round glasses. say hello, TiraHaruto ~

- Martians round up the herd and try to get them to submit to Mars!
- "Athena" uses her power to move Sanctuary (WHAT)!
