This ... isn't going to be lengthy or in-depth; I'm letting the raw run while I pitter around the interwebs, so I'll likely only catch the odd thing between doing other stuff. I'm also not speculating on the plot ~~also I want to scream OMG IT'S THE RUIN OHNOES HOROBI HOROBI at the top of my lungs lol~~ because I can't understand a word of what I'm watching :D

So, just some stuff I notice as I trundle along

- OHGAWD IT'S A POTATO

- I hope that's not supposed to be Mars-the-planet >.>

- Mars just called Seiya a Gold Saint (... dur) and then called him "Pegasus". and Seiya used the ryuuseiken. wat?

- that new opener is going to take some getting used to >.>

- ... all the other Bronze Boys in the Dramatic Rearview Silhouette [tm] are still in some version of the Bronze Cloths except for Seiya. weird. also, that's one hell of a haltertop-cuirass you have going there with Cygnus, Hyouga ~

- THE PEGASUS SPIRIT CONSTELLATION THINGEE HAS RED SPEEDLINES *dedforever*

- episode starting now ... oh hay Shaina beating the shit out of Kouga. he's impacted in cliffsides a few times. no blood so far, alas, but looking good :D

- there's a lot of trees. a lot of trees. did they reforest Sanctuary or are they somewhere else? o.O

- ... does Saori have a cane?

- I SAW BLOOD it was just few tiiiiiny sprinkles but it's a good sign! <3

- now there's a pretty sandy beach. and Saori's manor or summat I don't know where we aaaaaare D8

- palm trees on the beach o.O

- the cane has a finial shaped like a pegasus *facepalms*

- oooookie what the hell is up with that after the sparkly Kouga henshin, Seiya O.O

Set up seems a little dumb on Saori's behalf... thought she'd taken a few levels in competency towards the end of Hades (of course, who the fuck knows what we're using as canon at present)...

Lol at Shaina as his instructor...

Lol at Kouga dreaming about Seiya. That's not awkward at all. Then again, there's a bit of a slightly-uncomfortable vibe between Kouga and Saori, too. Do not want.

Animation is actually really pretty, just a weird style to see StS in after mainlining Lost Canvas.

Looking forward to meeting the other goobers more than anything.

Weeelllll we are talking about Saori, who really did fuckall in Hades-den (having agreed to being locked in a vase getting exsanguinated after all) until she was broke free and then smote Hades upside the head. But yeh, seeing as we have noooo clue what the past continuity is, who can say? X3

Kouga dreaming about Seiya, Seiya apparently talking to him from the Pegasus pendant (and while we're on the subject, Saori wearing that is kind of yeeeaaaah) ...

... aah, so I'm not the only one getting creeper vibes from Saori and her having hauled the kid off into in the backass of nowhere. I can't decide if not being alone is good or bad though >.>

(note to self: keep Saori away from the little Dragon)

I WANT TO SEE GEKIIIIII *coughs* Yeh, more goobers would be nice. I suspect we won't see Eden til the scublets get themselves to Saint School though. *convinced there is Saint School until proven otherwise*

Right now I want to say it'll just be Kouga because he has Lead Character Powers [tm] and so does Seiya, but we'll see I guess. The other scrublets don't match up well except Ryuuho though that could admittedly be comedy gold (Ryuuho -> Shiryuu, Yuna -> Marin, Souma -> Ban, Haruto -> Nachi, and Eden's up the creek unless they use Jaga from the Golden Apple oav) ...

The dothecreep is even worse when you remember she raised him >.o

Somehow, mine's all trying to be in the walkways... Led me to reading a couple volumes last night just for Saga. And now I'm all in love with him even more and sort of want to yell from the rooftops how amazing he is. ilu, Saga. ♥

Yeh, that's what sort of got me. And despite everything, she should also be at least twice his age (Shaina too, and it almost looked like they were going to throw a bit of that in). So all around 'do not want'.

Oh, she's definitely twice his age -- more like three times his age and better. If Saori is, say, fifteen in Hades-den (rough guesstimate but yes, she was thirteen at series start) and this is 25 yrs later, and Kouga's thirteen ... well. Dothecreep. *can forgive Saori looking the way she does, loldeityhood*

I like that Shaina does sound older (well, aside that her seiyuu will sound older anyway ;3) than she did. And yeh, more donotwant. I need to see this subtitled to decide how much is knee-jerk reaction though.

That's right... was thinking 15 years for some reason, whoops. That does mean Shiryuu and Shunrei got a later start on things, though. Unless there are a few other not-so-ickle Dragons wandering around. *would approve of this greatly ohgods yes*

I could see the bit with Shaina being more sisterly or something, yes, but first glance with only getting half the dialogue + the specific framing = donotwant.

There might be other dragonspawn (hee), which could be entertaining X3 Of course, I don't think we've ever gotten a straight-up confirmation that the prior Dragon in question is actually Shiryuu -- if the 25-yrs thing is accurate, that's a good chunk of time. Ryuuho's father may be someone else and Toei is just trolling.

Exactly >.> But Shaina's creepfactor-a-zillion at the best of times, so I really want the dialogue to work out what's going on. She's certainly gotten less savage in her old age, though ;3~

Well, if it's 25 years later, and Shiryuu was also ~15, and Ryuuho is 12, that'd make Shiryuu around 28~31 when he was born. Not awful. And Shunrei being older as well makes Ryuuho's shojo-sickness a little easier to buy. *realizes she is talking about her own age, ahaha*

Not the hugest surprise that she's mellowed a bit... perhaps a bit surprising that she's getting a main role (for now), but we'll just have to see where that goes.

Shunrei was also 13 at series start if it helps, not that it's entirely surprising ;3 Shiryuu was 14. (ha, you should have seen me back-when and I rolled past Gemini's age ~ lulz were had, let me assure you)

I have a sneaking suspicion Shaina's going to fade out as a character once things get started -- so far, the first episode (superficially at least) pretty much mirrors up exactly the starting training scenes with Seiya and Marin. The only major difference is that Kouga gets Pegasus from Saori (FFFFF THAT WAS CREEPY WHY WAS SHE WEARING THAT) and Seiya had to win it in combat.

Not horribly old, but still a likelihood of being over 30 by the time ickleDragon came along... Since I assume the main series took a few years. (*sporfles* Oh, I can imagine...)

Probably. Now that Kouga has his magic necklace (yep, creepy), Shaina can go back to whatever else she'd been doing... ^^;; I suppose there's not much of anyone left in Sanctuary, though? Hmmm...

The original series doesn't take up a hell of a lot of time, when you think about it; maybe a few months to six months at a maximum for the Sanctuary arc, which literally moves right into the Poseidon (mini-)arc which is nothing but a handful of virtually-simultaneous battles. I do think there's something of a timeskip between that and Hades-den but still, I think it's all maybe a year, maaaaaybe about two if you really stretch things.

I could probably find a concrete answer but it doesn't fuss me much X3

There's folks still in Sanctuary based on the scan I posted on my LJ yesterday which I daresay you missed ;3~ (GEKIIIIIII~~) The Palaestra is their training mess, which given how everyone is dressed in the scan is surely the school the leads are said to be attending iirc. I will never stop giggling like a maniac X3

What I want to know is who is running Sanctuary --

I was thinking maaaaybe two years for everything. Gives time for everyone to heal up a bit, at least, between getting pummeled.
