... now that that's out of my system, time for some idle thoughts, observations and random chatter about this episode. Get your tin hats ready, I'm going to put a conspiracy theory on the end ;3


- anyone else wondering just how many Saints Ionia (presumably) handed off to Mars? Sanctuary looked like an abandoned wasteland last episode before it went tits-up, and the extended terrain isn't any better ...

- Tower of Babel. Tower of fragging Babel sounds about right for sparkleGolbeza, resurrecting the Tower of Bab-il *cough*. and Mars going on and on about humanity (and Saints? can't remember lol) needing a good smiting upside the skull -- it gives me a prickle of an Overture vibe. (I also found myself briefly wondering if Mars really is meant to be Ares but Toei didn't want to re-use the name "Ares". there's a certain rivalry with Athena and all that)

- did I mention the Tower of Babel is like a Casshern SINS flashback on an acid trip? because it totally is, yo -- and the Luna vibes I'm getting from Aria (dude, plants from nowhere? powering sucking out people's souls lives cosmo? we can't stop here, this is Batshit Country muahaha) certainly aren't helping. any bets on what the clockwork up top is for?

- everyone who kind of wishes the Palaesta folk died rather than being hooked up in a soulsucking crystal web pillar, raise your hand >.> *raises hand*

- Leo Mycenae. Lion-dude, the whiny children complaining that you're 1) new 2) not a "bishie" need to be slapped with an anvil. we hardly see you really and I have so many questions, up to and including what hold Mars may have on you because you seem like a decent dude not particularly keen on slaughtering youngsters (you didn't even bother with a proper attack mode). also your name, which both pleases and worries the hamster, because naming the Saint of Lions after Mykenai, city of the Lion Gate and namesake city of the Bronze Age awesomesauce Mycenaeans is awesome ... but dude, he's named after the seat of the House of Atreus >.>;; that's ... yeeeaaahhhh >.>;;;

- while on the subject of Gold Saints and names ... two for two so far, named after Ionia (a skullbanging important swathe of Greek colonies in Asia Minor, including Epheseus and Miletus) and Mycenae (there is no possible way for me to sum up how important Mycenae is. have a wiki page. I'd assumed Ionia's name was a random fluke choice, but now I wonder ...

- Seiya! and a BIG FUCKING EXPLOSION but never mind that for now -- when Seiya impacts like a golden comet, that was kind of cool, but more important is that he's clearly and obviously translucent -- which pretty much confirms that he's either dead and carrying on in Aioros' footsteps, or he's a projection from elsewhere. which brings me to ...

- ... you know, what with the weird shit Mars is doing, and the stuff he said this episode, and that he carried off Saori (but seems to have done not a thing with her power, relying on this Aria bint) but only after years of leaving her be when he could have grabbed her at any time, and shade!Seiya popping up like a bad penny ... and that all-incompassing armour ... well frankly if I were writing the plot, if you cracked that armour open Seiya would be inside. just saying. (make sure your tin hat is securely fastened ~)

- next episode we get to see (batshit, apparently) Silvers. looks like life is getting back to normal ~

Alas, Ionia will always make me think of a cowtown I'd have to visit a couple of times a year for rabbit shows. I mean, I know about the real thing but the mental association... yeh.

I'm suddenly very curious about unaccounted for (former?) Bronzes, too. We know Shiryuu is farked and Seiya is... something. So...

I am automatically biased about any Leo saints. Hmm. Hmmmmmm.

At least there seems to be lots of things happening now.

It's possible that the other Bronzes have also been put paid and are out of the running in various ways (even if I do still think the "reveal" floating around before the series started is highly unlikely to say the least). Mostly I want to know where Shun is.
